Protecting The Great Barrier Reef
One of Australia’s most remarkable natural gifts, the Great Barrier Reef is blessed with the breath taking beauty of the world’s largest coral reef. The reef contains an abundance of marine life and comprises of over 3000 individual reef systems and coral cays.
Corals inhabiting tropical reefs are thermally sensitive, meaning that they can only tolerate small temperature ranges. However, climate change is causing abnormally high sea surface temperatures, which is causing corals to bleach during summer months. Coral bleaching leads to increased disease susceptibility, which causes detrimental ecological effects for reef communities.
A portion of profit from all sales is donated to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation which supports, funds and creates projects to protect the coral reefs and the animals that depend on them.
